The World Bank Group’s Identification for Development (ID4D) Initiative uses global knowledge and expertise across sectors to help countries realize the transformational potential of digital identification systems to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. In Nigeria, the World Bank is supporting the Digital ID4D Project to expand coverage of the national ID system to the majority of the population, following the government’s Strategic Roadmap for Digital Identification. As part of the project, specific outreach and enrollment for persons with disabilities has been planned to enable them to have greater access to basic services, which increasingly require the national ID.
